In 2015, Spay It Forward – A DogtownSA initiative, was created to turn compassion into action.

The idea is simple, but the impact is extraordinary:

When you sponsor a sterilisation, you don’t just help one animal – you start a ripple effect. You “spay it forward” by inspiring just one other person to do the same. One act becomes many. One life saved becomes thousands.

Our work focuses on two critical areas:

🐶 Supporting families who genuinely cannot afford to sterilise their pets

🐱 Running TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programmes for feral cats

Thanks to supporters like you, we’ve already funded or partially funded sterilisation for over 4000 dogs and cats across South Africa. But the need is urgent – and growing – and we can’t do it alone.

Here’s the reality:

One unsterilised female dog, her mate, and their offspring can result in nearly 67,000 dogs in just six years. That’s not just a statistic – it’s thousands of lives at risk of suffering.
