Our dedicated team of certified caregivers, trainers and behaviourists are what make Dogtown an exceptional sanctuary. Dedicating their time and skills to enriching the lives of abandoned and abused dogs.
My passion has always been animals. I’m an internationally qualified dog trainer and animal behaviourist with a focus on enrichment and mental well being for the animals in our care.
My strategic, and engineering background, may seem light-years from my current role, however, budget uncertainty, is the only real difference. Every life saved, and forever home found for these most loyal, sentient beings, makes no challenge too much.
My name is Elanza and without question, I have the best job in the world. I get to place our beautiful furkids into loving, forever, second chance homes!
I really love what I’m doing here at Dogtownsa. Helping dogs be better until they find their forever homes . I think I’m making a difference in by helping these dogs to trust” us” humans again, mostly ones that were abused and abandoned. It’s a blessing to be part of this Dogtownsa team ❤️🐕
For me working at Dogtown is very diverse – from maintenance around the property to dog behaviour issues including external consultations and homing some of our luckier furkids. This diversity, although challenging at times, is what makes the job so rewarding.
I am blessed to work from home with my six spoiled (read ruined) FurKids. I use the term “work” loosely as I consider what I do to be an honour and privilege.
Working at a rehabilitation centre is about all the challenges and ability to make a positive difference the dogs lives. Working with dogs everyday teaches a person a lot. It’s very rewarding to see your dog achieve goals whether it’s big or small
After volunteering at Dogtown for 9 years, I decided to leave the corporate world and pursue my passion for animals full time. I love being able to make a difference in our dogs’ lives and use my TTouch skills to help them. It’s wonderful arriving at work to be greeted by happy faces and wagging tails every day and seeing some of our special dogs go to loving homes.
I am very happy person to work with dogs, the thing that makes me happy is to see some dogs change there lives and find forever homes, we work hard to change their unwanted behaviours. We are always calm when we work with difficult dogs so they can understand we are helping them.
I like working at Dogtown with the other team members. I enjoy being able to watch the skills and training they use and try myself with the dogs. Sometimes I work with dogs that extra help, I like being able to ask others for advice and learning from the other team members. I love working with dogs and doing training. Training helps me focus on them and get them to focus on me. The dogs take away my stress and help me learn more.
I love my job at Dogtown as it is so varied, from office work to working with some of our dogs. Every day is different and one’s agenda can change quickly and suddenly. As the saying goes “variety is the spice of life”. Assisting with the dogs doing fun activities is interesting and can be challenging.
I love what lam doing at Dogtown because l am acquiring a broad knowledge in working with furkids, especially in communicating with them and doing a health checks. Also helping them to have trust and love for humans.
