Elanza

My name is Elanza, and without question, I have the best job in the world. I get to run the daily operations of  Dogtown. My path with Dogtown started in December 2011 when a friend asked me to volunteer. I have never looked back. I volunteered most of December 2011, and towards the end of the month, I trapped Tracy in her office and somehow convinced her that Dogtown needed me! January 2012, I handed in my resignation from my corporate job, and the rest is history.

My fur family consists of 5 dogs and four cats, all rescued. My twins joined my family in my first few weeks at Dogtown. Foster puppies, they said, it would be fine they said ???? seven years later, they are still sleeping in my bed ???? My cats, of course, rule the roost, as is the case in most cat- homes!

Back to Dogtown, my day consists of putting out fires, networking our dogs, processing adoption applications, putting out some more fires, doing home checks, panicking about money and making sure things run as smoothly as possible. I have grown so much as a person during my time at Dogtown. My people skills have slightly deteriorated, but my life has been enriched to the point of no return, and I can honestly say that I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life other than helping our dogs in any way I possibly can.
